Meet Daniel Piz Estrada, consultant at Mprise Agriware for projects in North America. What does he like about his job at Agriware, which Agriware moments will he never forget and where would he love to travel in his time off?
- What do you like to do in your leisure time?
I like to do a lot of things but what I like to do mainly is playing videogames, watch series, watch sports: football, basketball, formula one, etc. Right now I am more focused on doing crossfit, I have been doing this for 2 years already and I really like it. Also as a hobby I like to mix music, travel, climb mountains and go to festivals of electronic music. As you can see I am a very active person, but I also spend time in my house with my dog, cooking, running and reading. What I read depends on my mood. - What makes horticulture an interesting world for you?
I come from a biological career, working with live organisms which is a passion for me. I like plants in general but also insects, viruses, fungi, animals, and the concept of automating the process in order to help an organism to get the maximal yield in an efficient way. To discover trends and to be able to predict the future with help of technology is amazing. Seeing production sites when I have the opportunity to visit greenhouses is an enriching experience. - What Agriware moment will you always remember?
I have two. One was the first time that I arrived to the Netherlands in order to meet all the colleagues. I learned a lot in those weeks. The second moment that I will always remember was the first time that I had to give a training to one of our biggest costumers. I had been preparing for almost a month to give the best presentation possible. I was a bit anxious but everything went great and I will always do my best for continued improvement. - To which place do you prefer to go on vacation?
I don’t have a favourite location. Mexico has some amazing beaches, forests, mountains and the gastronomy is incredible. But I also love traveling to the Netherlands and visit some friends and go to festivals. On my next trips I would love to discover Japan or Iceland and see the northern light. - What do you like to watch or listen to? (Music / film / art / books)
I love music in general, but right now I really enjoy listening to deep house, progressive house, trance and latin music. When it comes to series I love Game of Thrones, Succession, Ted Lasso, Friends, South Park... a little bit of everything. For movies I am a big fan of Marvel movies. I also enjoy Sci-Fi movies.
