Description

The purpose of this course is to give you a better understanding of the concepts and functionality of the Master Planning module in Microsoft Dynamics AX2012. This will include a detailed look at the main functionality in the module, including setting up and running Forecast and Master Planning. Attention is paid to planning concepts, preconditions and settings for master planning, the master plan, forecast planning, requirement planning groups, item requirement planning and the effect of intercompany and multi-site operations on master planning. It also discusses the relationships between module Master Planning and the other modules. 

The course includes discussion, review of course material and practice to independently expand your knowledge related to Master Scheduling. The course only covers the Discrete Manufacturing sub-area and not the Lean, Process and/or Projects sub-areas. Separate courses are available for these areas.

Preliminary Knowledge

  • Knowledge at the level of course Dynamics AX2012 Supply Chain Foundation (X12-SCF) is required. Additional level knowledge of Dynamics AX2012 Discrete Manufacturing Basics (X12-MP1) is strongly recommended. 
  • Knowledge of planning principles.
