Business Central en Power Platform integreren

Less code, more business

Custom apps to support business processes are often expensive and time-consuming. Microsoft Power Platform provides tools to more easily act (Act), automate (Automate), analyze (Analyze) and communicate (Assist).

The strength of Power Platform is that you now create a wide range of apps that easily interface with other business apps such as Business Central. In the form of an extension, you extend functionalities. Thus ERP is at the heart of your IT landscape and you use Power Platform for the specific extensions.

Overview Microsoft Power Platform

What is Microsoft Power Platform?

Microsoft Power Platform is a platform that allows you to create additional functionality in a simple 'Low/No-code' style. This means that you can easily build a new app to use as a cash register system, for example, or easily declare commuting expenses in your ERP system, without that functionality being in the system.

So you create a virtual shell of functionality around your ERP, CRM, WMS or any other random solution to achieve greater productivity.

4 reasons to use the Microsoft Power Platform

That the possibilities are endless and that it is easy to work with the Power Platform is nice, but that can also make it difficult to see the business case. In short, why should you invest in the Power Platform? Briefly, a few reasons:

  1. Complex processes that don't fit into standard ERP can be automated with the Power Platform.
  2. You save time and prevent errors by having employees work with apps. This is because work is done from one digital source and the data on the shop floor is recorded in a structured way.
  3. Data is the new oil, which is why it is important to link data from different sources. This gives you better overviews and allows you to make quick decisions based on data.
  4. You keep more control over the software when you choose to use the Power Platform yourself. In short, you are less dependent on a vendor.

What is Microsoft Power Apps?

Power Apps is part of Microsoft Power Platform. This part of the platform aims to let people build apps for various processes in an approachable way. There is often no room in the ERP or CRM system for those processes. Previously, customizations would be built. Power Apps offers more flexibility in this regard.

There are two types of apps. A Canvas App and a Model-Driven App. The data is collected in Dataverse.

  • Power Apps Canvas: an app like on your smartphone, in it you can easily perform actions like ordering something through the App.
  • Dataverse: the storage place for all data. Think about the name of a contact. You now capture that once in Dataverse and use it in various Apps.
  • Model Driven App: an application where you can manage all business-critical data. Think of a system like Dynamics CRM, where you have an application with dashboards, charts, business processes and forms at your disposal.

What is Power BI?

Power BI is a reporting solution for bringing together and visualizing data from various sources. These visualizations give value to the data you collect and help you make smarter decisions or intervene faster on exceptions in a process. In this way, you make your organization data-driven and make decisions no longer solely on gut feeling, but based on facts (and dimensions).

There are many parties on the market that do something with Power BI. We mainly focus on Power BI in Dynamics.
