  1. What do you like to do in your leisure time?
Besides working at Agriware, I have a beautiful and busy family. My wife, Brenda, is retraining as an elementary school teacher and we have three children, ages 7 and 2x4. Yes, I also have twins. Besides family life, I can enjoy a nice walk in the woods or along the dike, a good conversation over a campfire and watching all the shenanigans my kids are up to. Family first.
  2. What makes horticulture an interesting world for you?
Basically all processes are the same but every grower gives that process their own touch which makes them unique. This in combination with the challenges, continuing to innovate and the yield and cost challenge makes it a sector that never stands still. The constant desire to improve makes it a dynamic sector and very interesting for me.
  3. What Agriware moment will you always remember?
One of the best moments in my Mprise Agriware career was starting the team in Mexico where Joop, Bianca and I had selection interviews late into the night to find the right candidates. Another great moment was when I had to review Ball's contract on my first day at work and we eventually went live two years later.

  4. To which place do you prefer to go on vacation?
To our vacation home in Overijssel (in the East of the Netherlands). My children enjoy themselves there and know the recreation staff, which allows my wife and I to relax as well. But if it could be every year I would like to go back to Australia because of the nature and the differences in nature.
  5. What do you like to watch or listen to? (Music / film / art / books)
My wife doesn't understand my taste in music. This ranges from 80/90s music, metal, techno but also classical music. It has to do with how I feel. If I watch a movie I often watch documentaries about sports and crime. And movies about crime. In recent years I have mostly read biographies about a variety of people.
