Our motto at Mprise Agriware is: people first. Our customers and colleagues come first with us. Who are the people behind Agriware and what motivates them? Meet Vincent Ayala, functional consultant at Mprise Agriware for international projects and pre-sale. What does he like about his job at Agriware, why does he compare Agriware to a box of Lego parts and what does he like to do to disconnect from work?

  1. What do you like to do in your leisure time?
It is hard to answer a question like that, with so much to do and so little time... During the day, I like to do some chores at home, take care of the garden and of our vegetable plot (I am lucky to live in the countryside of France, in a village of 1,000 inhabitants). I also like to go for walks with my family, my daughters love autumn mushroom-picking in the forest. Also I play sports when I have the time. I'm also the cook at home, I like to taking time to prepare good meals for my family and friends. At night I don't sleep much, so I keep busy reading or playing strategy games. When it's no longer time to work, this allows me to disconnect completely.
  2. What makes horticulture an interesting world for you?
I have been working in agricultural production software companies for 25 years now. I have always been fascinated by all the knowledge required in this sector and have been discovering horticulture in detail for the past four years. I have been lucky enough to come across different stories through customers and prospects, whether in Canada, Central America, France or The Netherlands. Every place is different and provides the opportunity to learn new things and put yourself in the right context. With so much to discover it can be a real challenge. But I like challenges, they spice up life.
  3. What Agriware moment will you always remember?
Some people might perceive Agriware as a complex tool, and that is certainly the case with everything it manages to handle. My perception is a little different. I see Agriware as a big box of lego parts, and my aim is to assemble them correctly to meet the customer's expectations and make him a satisfied customer. Based on the analogy of this box of lego parts, we organized a hackathon within Mprise Agriware, a sort of collective brainstorming session in a limited timeframe to come up with a new idea. I was fascinated by the ability we had to create a process that could bring real added value to the user, simply and all in just one day.
  4. To which place do you prefer to go on vacation?
I'm very curious by nature, and I love discovering new stories and new cultures. Where would I prefer to go on vacation? Quite simply somewhere I haven't been before. Some people will be interested in their car or the latest electronic gadgets, but for my wife and I the main interest is discovering wonders our planet has to offer, and the cultures that have developed there.
  5. What do you like to watch or listen to? (Music / film / art / books)
Cinema and books, this is a real bone of contention with my wife because I am a science fiction fan and she doesn't like it at all. But the battle isn't over, one of my daughters also likes science fiction... I like this type of story because it is both visionary and allows total disconnection.

As for music, with the exception of rap, I think I listen to just about everything. From classical music, through jazz, to rock, funk and other modern music. It depends on the context:

    - I'll listen to hard rock (Metallica), when I have to write a specification, it motivates me and helps me work fast.

    - I'll listen to techno when I'm doing sport. I found a nice playlist and it really motivated me during my last Nordic walking competition, when I averaged 8km/h (it's walking, not running).

    - I'll listen to jazz (Melody Gardot) or classical music (Samuel Barber's adagio) to relax.
